Amik Robertson has a powerful message for Lions fans, calling him a ‘deep player’.

New Lions cornerback Amik Robertson makes no bones about it. Despite what others may believe, he hopes to play heavily in his debut season in Detroit. Robertson, who played his first four NFL seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, doesn’t regard himself as a “depth player” whatsoever. According to a social media post from the early hours of July 4th, the tenacious Robertson is sick of hearing about how he is depth rather than a significant member in the Lions’ revamped secondary.

Robertson started 19 of the Raiders’ 34 regular season games over the last two years, predominantly playing outside in 2023 after dividing time between the slot and outside in 2022. He performed considerably better outside than inside, despite the fact that the Lions utilized Robertson frequently in the slot during their previous minicamp.

Detroit added four new cornerbacks this season, including Robertson. After trading for experienced starter Carlton Davis, the Lions selected Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw in the first two rounds of the 2024 NFL draft.
