Golden State Warriors set to Go After Paul George…

Paul George is a player worth considering for the Warriors, especially if Klay Thompson leaves as a free agency.

The Golden State Warriors must find a way to quickly regain their status as Western Conference contenders. With Klay Thompson and Chris Paul’s impending free agency, Golden State could make a run for Paul George, according to Brett Seigel.

“Paul George’s status with the Clippers is quite interesting. If the Clippers opt not to pay George what he wants, he may not be pursued by an Eastern Conference team. Keep a careful eye on the Warriors about George if Klay Thompson leaves.”

Last season, George averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists for the Clippers. He is undoubtedly the most popular free agent on the market, according to various publications. The market won’t move until George makes a decision. Before he can enter free agency, George must decline his $48.7 million player option.

Last season, Klay averaged 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. While he had a poor year compared to past years, it was still a great season for a rotational offensive piece.

The Warriors expected more from Klay, but many clubs interested in him this offseason would be thrilled if he performed at the levels we saw last year, despite shooting 38.5% from three versus his customary 40+%.
